Celebrating our Top Doctors in America By Cornea Associates of Texas on August 22, 2023

It is with great pride an excitement that we announce that Dr. C. Bradley Bowman and Dr. Jamie Alexander have been recognized as “America's Best Eye Doctors” in Newsweek magazine. This prestigious recognition highlights their commitment to providing exceptional care and service to our community.

The “America's Best Eye Doctors” recognition is awarded to physicians who go above and beyond in their fields. It is an honor that is only awarded to the top 1% of doctors in America. Recipients are chosen through a selection process that evaluates their clinical skills, patient outcomes, and reputation among peers. Being recognized as a Top Doctor is a testament to their dedication to providing excellent patient care and improving health outcomes in our community.

Dr. Bowman a graduate of Baylor University and the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, has received his ophthalmic training at the prestigious Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida ranked by U.S. News and World Report as the best eye hospital and residency program in the United States. He was awarded a Heed Fellowship in Cornea and External Disease at the Emory Eye Center in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Bowman also has been recognized as “Best Doctors” in D Magazine and “Top Doctors” in the FW Magazine, and as "America's Best Doctors" in Newsweek magazine for the past two years.

Dr. Alexander attended the University of Southern California, graduating summa cum laude with a degree in Biological Sciences.  She then earned her medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, where she was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. Subsequently, Dr. Alexander received her ophthalmology training from the prestigious Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA.  She completed her fellowship training in Cornea, External Disease, and Refractive Surgery at the Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Institute at the University of Colorado Denver. Dr. Alexander has also been recognized as “Best Doctors” in Collin County in D Magazine and as "America's Best Doctors" in Newsweek magazine for the past three years.

Both doctors, specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of the cornea and anterior segment, including LASIK and PRK, cataract surgery, cornea transplants, DSEK, DMEK, and other anterior segment procedures.

We asked both doctors, “What inspired you to become a doctor, and what motivates you every day?”

"I chose ophthalmology because there is no better gift than the gift of sight.  When you think of your health, there is just nothing more important than being able to see.  We want to see our family and loved ones, we want to be able to see in order to do our work, and we want to see the beauty of this world that God created.   I can think of nothing more rewarding in life than to help others improve or regain their vision." – Dr. C.Bradley Bowman

"Like many young, smart kids who choose to go to medical school, I decided to become a physician largely because I knew it would be a worthwhile way to help others. In school, the intellectual exercise of diagnosing a problem followed by the hands-on ability to address it drew me to the surgical specialties, and a handful of interesting eye problems in my family made ophthalmology a natural fit. I love the marriage of patient relationships and microsurgery in my profession, and I am grateful for the incredible opportunity to restore sight for my patients on a daily basis." -- Dr. Jamie Alexander

Congratulations Dr. Bowman and Dr. Alexander for being one of the “America's Best Eye Doctors” in Newsweek magazine. You represent Cornea Associates of Texas exceedingly well.
