Cataract Surgery in Dallas, Fort Worth, Texas - Premium Lens Implants

ReZoom™ IOLUntil recently, most cataract patients had their vision improved with a single focus intraocular lens (IOL) which provides clear distance vision, but requires most patients to use bifocals or reading glasses to see near objects.

With multifocal lens options, such as ReSTOR® and Tecnis Multifocal®, we are able to reduce your dependence on glasses for both distance and reading. We are proud to offer a similar technology, the extended range of vision (ERV) or Tecnis Symfony® lens, which is uniquely available in a toric model for patients who need astigmatism correction and desire to reduce their dependence on spectacles. Because these lenses are “premium” options, there are costs associated with these lenses that are not covered by insurance plans.

Cataract surgery is performed on an outpatient basis at our Dallas and Fort Worth surgery center and only requires a few hours of your time from start to finish. The cataract surgery consists of making a small incision, inserting an instrument to dissolve and remove the cloudy cataract, and finally, the insertion of the advanced technology multifocal or ERV IOL.

Your physician will examine your eye the next day. You will begin using prescription eye drops to guard against infection and help your eye heal. Everyone heals differently, but the majority of patients return to most of their normal activities the day after surgery. Once both eyes have been treated, you will fully appreciate the advantages of these advanced technology IOL’s.

Data acquired by Cornea Associates of Texas shows that 97% of our advanced technology lens patients could read newsprint without the need for reading glasses.
