Cornea Associates of Texas

 Verisyse™ Phakic IOL

As a commitment to helping patients achieve their best personal vision, Cornea Associates of Texas now offers the Verisyse™ Phakic Intraocular Lens for patients with moderate to severe nearsightedness.

For very nearsighted people, procedures like LASIK may not be an option, leaving them dependent upon thick glasses or contact lenses. The Verisyse™ Phakic Intraocular Lens provides high-quality, high-definition vision without the need for glasses or contacts.

The procedure involves placing the Verisyse™ Phakic Intraocular Lens behind the cornea through a small incision. The lens is generally not felt or seen once it is in place. The procedure allows the natural crystalline lens to be left in the eye, which is necessary for focusing between objects that are near and far. The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis and usually takes 20-30 minutes.

If you are nearsighted or even extremely nearsighted, tired of contact lenses and thick glasses, and at least 21 years of age, you might be a candidate for the Verisyse™ Phakic Intraocular Lens. Only a physician can determine if Verisyse™ Phakic Intraocular Lens is right for you.
