NBC5 Chief Meteorologist David Finfrock has LASIK, walks you through the process

NBC5 Chief Meteorologist DAVID FINFROCK had the LASIK Vision Correction Surgery preformed by Cornea Associate of Texas and walks you through the process. David wore glasses since third grade. Before surgery his vision was 20/1000, which meant he needed glasses to function. Without his glasses he said he couldn't see an alarm clock, his new granddaughter or for that matter the big 'E' on the eye chart."

Now that has all changed. David isn't wearing glasses any more. While that will be an adjustment to viewers used to watching his weather casts with him in glasses, it's a happy change for David.

It was never a vanity issue with David. He didn't particularly mind glasses. But, there were other issues, little things that added up over time. Such as limited peripheral vision, not being able to see while snorkeling, or doing any other water sport, needing reading glasses and like most folks he did not want to deal with the transition to bifocals.

David wants to tell others "He has thoroughly enjoyed his newfound freedom without corrective lenses."
