Announcement From Dr. Beebe

It is with bittersweet emotion that I announce my retirement from Cornea Associates of Texas and the practice of Ophthalmology. I have been blessed beyond belief with the opportunity to practice “my art” for 38 years in the Dallas metroplex area. I thank you for entrusting me and my physician associates at Cornea Associates of Texas. It has truly been an honor for me to provide specialized anterior segment eye care to them.

Rest assured that I leave with the confidence that Cornea Associates of Texas remains committed to provide the highest level of ophthalmic care.

I plan to remain working until the end of March of 2024. After that I plan to continue to reside in our Dallas home. I look forward to having more time to devote to my family, my church, volunteer work and other activities that are important to me.

I wish you the best and hope that our paths cross many times in the future.

headshot of Dr Beebe Dr. Walter Beebe, a cornea and refractive surgery specialist, brings to our center exceptional leadership, extensive training, and unparalleled experience. His top-notch clinical skills and friendly chairside manner have earned him recognition in D Magazine as one of the “Best Doctors In America,” an award shared by only a select handful of ophthalmologists and eye care specialists in the United States.

Dr. Beebe has received some of the best training available in his field. First, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa honor fraternity. He then completed his Doctor of Medicine degree at his alma mater’s school of medicine, after which he finished an internship at the St. Vincent Hospital and Health Care Center in Indianapolis. Dr. Beebe next completed his residency in ophthalmology at Texas Tech University Health Science Center and later was awarded a fellowship in Cornea and External Disease at Pacific Presbyterian Medical Center in San Francisco.

After the culmination of his medical training, he moved to Dallas and joined Cornea Associates of Texas.

Dr. Beebe is actively involved in the ophthalmology community. He has been a Diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology since 1986 and currently serves as an Examiner. In addition, he is well published in respected medical journals and textbooks and lectures on topics related to his subspecialty, Cornea and External Disease. He is also past president of the Dallas Academy of Ophthalmology and is active in numerous professional societies and organizations.

Dr. Beebe is happily married and the father of a daughter and two sons. He enjoys sharing in their school activities and is an active member of Saint Andrew United Methodist Church. He spends his free time enjoying outdoor activities such as boating, fly fishing, and hiking with his family.

I am pleased with the care I have received at Cornea Associates. Dr. Beebe explains everything he is doing and answers all my questions regarding medications and my treatment plan. I have had many ophthalmologists over the years and he is one of the best I have had work with me. He does not sugar coat his answers to my questions and I respect his knowledge and guidance.
